Season IV Is Off And Running!

The Season IV Rat City Majors Launched yesterday, and what a day it was!  The Stonefist Superchargers faced off against Bishop’s Angeles, and did what Dwarfs do best… marched right through them.  In another Elf on Dwarf matchup, the New Elf City Jets managed to survive a bout with the heavily favored champions from last season, the Deatroller Daffodils, and even pulled off a tie!  The Vamp on Orc matchup of Shockula’s Serial Killers vs. Da Boyz also ended in a tie, though I hear there weren’t many Thralls left on the pitch at the end.  Infectious Excellence tangled with Substitutiary Locomotion as well, and pulled off a 2-0 win – high numbers for a Nurgle team.  In the final tie of the night, LoqMundi faced off against Grave Condition, who ground each other down for a 1-1 tie.  Lastly, the Eviscerators got to show off a bit against the Wildwood Warriors… The match ended 3-0 both Casualty and Score-wise for the Eviscerators, and included not only a flying Goblin TD, but also the chopping down of a treeman and a TD run in by the Duke himself.

Just one week to go folks – the doors lock at Midnight on Weds 1/4/12.  This is also the last day for S3 Challenge Matches to be played (and entered).

Majors Season IV: The Elysian Invitational

This coming Spring will bring with it the first Elysian Invitational, a tournament of heroes hosted on a nearby series of islands off the coast of Rat City.  The High Elves that host it are a particularly wealthy and generous, and will gift the winning team with a magic item from their vaults.

The Elysian Invitational is a semi-annual 8, 12, or 16 man, 3-4 round KO style tournament to determine the overall winner of the Majors every other Summer season. It is held in July. Fringe benefit: In addition to the normal trophy received, the winning team may also choose a Magic Item to give to a player of their choice.  The options are: 1) The Cleats of Quickness, which grant the player an Agility skill of the coach’s choice, 2) The Gloves of Accuracy, which grant the player a Passing skill of the coach’s choice, or 3) a Scroll of Healing, which heals one injury on the player it is used on (including Death!).  If the Scroll is used to heal a dead player, there must be room for the player on the roster. For example, if a Wardancer was resurrected with the scroll, and the team already had two Wardancers, one of them would have to be fired to make room.  For the Gloves or Cleats, the skill added will count as a normal or doubles skill as is appropriate to the player’s position for Team Value purposes.  A player with a Magic Item cannot receive another Magic Item if the team wins the Elysian Invitational again.
